Is It Possible? Predictability, Limitations, and Heroics in Tooth Preservation (In-person course)

3 CEU, Core • Member Price: $89 early (ends 9/22)

Registration cost details: $89 early (ends 9/22) / $99 regular (ends 9/30) / $109 late (begins 10/1)

With our joint presentation between an endodontist and periodontist, we hope to explore with you the complex decision-making process behind saving teeth. Through real-world cases and input from current literature, we will examine when preservation is predictable, when it is not, and when extraordinary measures we’ve taken have succeeded — or failed.

Course objectives:

  • Review clinical and radiographic tools that are helpful in diagnosis, treatment planning, and determining prognosis.
  • Recognize situations where treatment outcomes are less reliable and extraction may be the better choice.
  • Discuss our “heroic” attempts with what has worked, what hasn’t, and the lessons we have learned from pushing the limits of biology and technique.

Katherine Shi, DMD

Dr. Katherine Shi grew up in Michigan and Georgia, graduated with her DMD degree from University of Pennsylvania, and completed her Endodontics Residency at Tufts University in Boston, MA. With Penn, she worked on integrating artificial intelligence for computer-aided CBCT detection of periapical lesions. She followed her husband to Sacramento and is thankful to practice at Endodontic Associates with an incredible team that shares a passion for saving natural teeth.
