In the vast majority of cases, dental implants have become the preferred treatment to replace missing teeth. As a result, implants are now being placed in an increasing number of both general and specialty practices. This throwdown will bring together an Oral Surgeon, a General Dentist, and a Periodontist to discuss and debate some of the specifics of implant surgery – come join the fun!
Topics will include:
- Modern techniques and standard of care
- Concepts in implant surgery and restoration
- Appropriate training for placing implants
- Management of complications
Dale Alto, DDS:
Dr. Alto is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and partner at Capital Oral Surgery in Sacramento California. Born and raised in Michigan, he received his dental degree from the University of Michigan and oral surgery training at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Alto’s clinical practice is focused on full-arch implant reconstruction, 3rd molar surgery, bone grafting, pathology and optimal post-op pain control.
Pieter Linssen, DDS:
Dr. Linssen began placing implants in 2006. Since then, he has been sponsored by several different implant companies to speak and teach in implantology. Every dentist that has been chairside with Dr. Linssen is still placing implants today while enjoying an increase in production and professional satisfaction.
Ash Vasanthan, DDS, MS:
Dr. Vasanthan is a Board Certified Periodontist practicing in the Roseville and Citrus Heights area with practice limited to Periodontics and Dental Implants. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Nugget.
