The Insurance You Need – Or Shouldn’t Do Without

No CEU • $75 Member Price

Is your practice AND your life appropriately insured? What if you can’t go to work tomorrow?
What if your practice burned down (and you were in it, but lived)? What is your most valuable asset in your practice? If your practice stops for either your own disability or something out of your control (i.e fire, computer hacking and shut down, accident) how do you pay the bills, the mortgage, your employee salaries, your loans? How long are you protected, even with insurance?

Do you sleep at night? Attend this course so that you will…:

  • Discover insurance available as a business owner as well as a clinical dentist
  • Become aware of the unknown risks that may plague your practice – and how to avoid or PROTECT you, your employees and your practice
  • Understand how disability companies define “disability” and how you can be paid … or not!
  • Why, and at what age and level of health, should you buy disability insurance?
  • Become aware of the unknown risks that may plague your practice and your ability to produce income– and how to avoid or PROTECT you, your family, your employees and your practice

HR Issues – For Doctors Only!

2 CEU, 20% • $75 Member Price

This course will focus on HR and employment issues, the laws and the complications that arise if you aren’t on top of the “rules.” Do you pay overtime? Should you? If you don’t, do you know when you should? What if a patient’s treatment takes a few minutes of overtime, what should you do? Do you know the rules about laying off employees, and what procedures you need to follow when you do? What if an employee goes MIA? If you don’t follow the rules and the laws by the book, you may be in for an expensive surprise! Even if you have a small number of employees, managing the personnel side of your dental office can be just as complicated as managing a large corporation. Join us for an informative training which will cover the biggest and most expensive mistakes dentists can make when managing their offices. Other topics that will be included, but not limited to:

Course Objectives

  • Leave of Absences and how much time you really have to give someone (hint, it can be a lot)
  • Overtime and why you must pay for every extra minute they work (it adds up quickly if you don* ’t!)
  • Rest and meals periods – and why we suggest you make them take every single one (How about paying someone an extra $18,000 because they missed their lunch)
